Stephanie Bartron-Miscione received her MFA in Painting in 1972. She then became a Visiting Assistant Professor of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma in an experimental program using Fine Art to teach students of architecture how to visually express their design ideas. Bartron-Miscione moved to Ridgefield, CT with her husband, Scott L. Miscione in 1974.

During the seventies Bartron-Miscione’s work was exhibited at the Museum of Art, Norman, OK, the Dallas Museum of Fine Art, Dallas, TX, and throughout New England. She was also an artist member of The Silvermine Center For The Arts, New Canaan, CT. In 1979 she received an Individual Artist Grant from The Connecticut Commission On The Arts. She became the Artist-in-Residence at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists during a year of work funded by the grant.

Bartron-Miscione’s work was part of Women Artists ’78 – an exhibition in NYC of work depicting feminist ideas. She moved to Brooklyn, NY  in 1980 with her husband and young son, Nicholas R. Miscione (www.miscionedesign.com). Her work was shown at the Allan Stone Gallery, 48 East 86th St., NYC, from 1982 through 1988. There were solo exhibitions of her work at two locations of the Reynold Kerr Gallery: 76 Green Street, NYC, in 1984, and 37 West 57th Street, NYC, in 1985.

Exhibitions since 1990 in the state of ME have focused on botanicals and still life, often using treasures – flowers, sea creatures, shells and rocks – discovered while walking near her island studio on Deer Isle. She is an artist member of the island gallery: DIAA. There was a solo exhibition at The Clown Art Gallery, Portland, ME in 1999, and she was the featured artist of summer exhibitions at Eagull Gallery, Stonington, ME: 2006, ’09, as well as a show and book launching, August ’10. In addition her work was represented in a solo show and book signing at The Courthouse Gallery in Ellsworth, ME, May 2010, and during an exhibition and book signing at the Gallery at Frenchman’s Bay, in Bar Harbor in 2011. During the month of January 2013 Bartron-Miscione was the featured artist at Cellardoor at the Villa, Rockport, Maine.
